In 2019, the Fairfield CDC was formed to focus on five key areas of improvement for the Fairfield Area:
The Fairfield Community Development Corporation is a 501(c)(3) consisting of stakeholders from the Fairfield neighborhood, Marshall University, the City of Huntington, the Mountain Health Network, and the Huntington Housing Authority.
The Fairfield CDC is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of leaders from partner entities, and Fairfield community members.
The Fairfield Community Development Corporation is funded by Foundation for the Tri-State.
The organization hired it’s first Executive Director RaShad Sanders in November of 2020.

Fairfield CDC’s purpose is to enhance the physical, economic and social aspects of life for all residents of the Fairfield community that live and work there. This vision includes restoring the creation and maintenance of affordable housing and commercial real estate, education of residents, promotion of healthy lifestyles and increasing the economic wealth of residents regardless of ability to pay, ethnicity, race, gender, age and/or sexual orientation in the neighborhood of Fairfield in Huntington, West Virginia.
